FC Dallas v St. Louis City: Luccin wants Toros to bring passion in his first game in charge

FC Dallas interim head coach Peter Luccin has urged his players to show their passion on the pitch when they welcome St. Louis City to the Toyota Stadium.

Dallas announced they had parted company with Nico Estevez on June 9 after a run of five matches without a win left them second from bottom in the Western Conference.

Peter Luccin was brought in as his interim replacement, with the Frenchman aiming to make a positive mark in his first game in charge.

I think it s very important to understand that not everything was bad in the past. I think that we build some foundation, Luccin said.

I can see the passion in their eyes. They see passion in my eyes, too. So, the passion for that game is a key factor, too. This is what I saw. This is what they see from m…

He’s got everything – Levi Colwill says Mykhailo Mudryk can be ‘one of the best’

Levi Colwill believes Chelsea team-mate Mykhailo Mudryk can be “one of the best in the world” and hopes the winger can now kick on after scoring his first goal for the Blues.

Mudryk has struggled to tie down a starting spot at Stamford Bridge since his big-money move from Shakhtar Donetsk in January and, prior to Monday’s trip to local rivals Fulham, had not managed a single goal for his new club.

However, he finally broke his goalscoring duck with the opener in a 2-0 win at Craven Cottage and Colwill, who set up the goal with a fine pass, hopes it will do the 22-year-old Ukraine international the power of good.

Aguero grapples for glory as strikers shine in Manchester City v Monaco

Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe gave further evidence of being the future and Radamel Falcao continued his glorious Indian summer at the Etihad Stadium, but it was Sergio Aguero s street-fighting determination to prove he is still the man for the here and now that stole the show in Manchester City s astonishing 5-3 Champions League win over Monaco.

The last-16 tie was being billed as a showdown between European football s more prodigious sharp shooters until Gabriel Jesus metatarsal had other ideas at Bournemouth last week.

It meant Aguero, City s premier marksman and talisman since joining as a club-record signing in 2011, could re-stake his claim to that status, having been dislodged by the 19-year-old Brazil international.

Klopp: Liverpool will sign quality in search of silverware

Jurgen Klopp insisted Liverpool will invest in quality players as they prepare for European football next season, while he said there is no alternative to winning trophies at Anfield.

Liverpool have been ravaged by injuries in the Premier League this season, with stars Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana, Jordon Henderson and Joel Matip all spending time on the sidelines.

Klopp has lamented the number of injuries in 2016-17 and the German manager knows Liverpool must be active in the transfer market as they juggle the addition of another tournament – the Merseyside club currently occupying the fourth and final Champions League qualifying berth heading into the final game of the season.

We need to be strong because around us we ll have a lot of quality …

The former Brighton and Hove Albion frontman joins the Cherries for a fee reported to be around £4million.

Murray scored 44 goals in 114 league appearances for Palace after arriving at Selhurst Park in 2011.

It feels great to finally be here, he told the club s official website.

I ve come across the club a lot in my career and it s been great to see it progress.

The way the boys play football is very exciting. It s front-footed and it will be nice to try and get some goals from it.

Murray spent time at Carlisle United and Rochdale prior to joining Brighton in 2008, having started his career in non-League football.

AC Milan bring in Andre Silva from Porto

AC Milan have completed the signing of Andre Silva from Porto for a reported transfer fee of €38 million.

Guardiola warns Manchester City midfielders over rotation

Manchester City s midfielders must accept rotation this season as Pep Guardiola picks through an enviable raft of alternatives in central areas.

David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne reprised their dual playmaking roles of last season and combined to set up Sergio Aguero s opener as City began their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Fernandinho undertook the holding role, with Yaya Toure, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and new signing Bernardo Silva all stationed on the bench at the Amex Stadium.

Guardiola believes the players at his disposal will help City achieve his desired playing style and bounce back from a trophyless return last time around but warned the array of international stars that patience will be required.
