Jonas Eidevall insists Arsenal are still focused on their title push despite being given a 0 per cent chance of winning the Women’s Super League by the Opta supercomputer.

The Gunners sit in third place ahead of Sunday’s match against Everton and are six points behind leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea occupy second place, three points ahead of Arsenal, but with a game in hand on the teams around them.

He said: “It s about for us focusing on what we can control.

The Opta supercomputer is definitely one of the things that we can t control. So, they can make their calculations, but we have to foc…

Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero,.

The La Liga giants, who are on the verge of appointing Rafael Benitiez as their new manager, have regularly been linked with a move for the Argentina international who won the Premier League’s golden boot last season.

In thirty-three league outings, the striker scored twenty-six goals, five more than nearest rivals Harry Kane, while he bagged a further six in other competitions.

Since arriving at Eastlands in 2011, Aguero has helped City win two Premier League titles, while he was also part of the squad that won the League Cup in 2014.

Bertrand targets England place

Ryan Bertrand is hoping that a run of good performances for Chelsea will see Roy Hodgson award him more senior England games in the future.

The full-back broke into the Blues first team at the end of last season, making his European debut in the Champions League final triumph over Bayern Munich.

He has enjoyed a run in the side at the start of this campaign, scoring in the Community Shield defeat and also starting against Wigan in the opening game of the Premier League.

The 23-year-old received his first senior England call-up for the friendly match against Italy last week, replacing Leighton Baines in the second half.

I managed to get on the pitch for 15 minutes the other night in the senior England team so I just have to concentrate on my club footbal…

Can an impressive Nice stand up to PSG on Sunday…and stay on top?

Nice continue to impress, and they deserve to be taken seriously as a title contender this season. (Photo: Eurosport Australia)

On Sunday, the biggest game of matchday 17 will take place at the Parc des Princes.

And it is not PSG vs. Marseille, commonly known as Le Classique. Rather, it will be Les Parisiens welcoming Nice. Normally that tie is just one of many that takes place during any Ligue 1 campaign, but this season, things are a bit different.

How much so? Well, for starters, a look at the Ligue 1 table will raise a few eyebrows. Last season, the title race was over in March. On March 13th, PSG crushed Troyes 9-0 to make it a fourth straight title. They would go on to ultimately cruise to first place by a whopping 31 point margin. Fortunately at least fro…

Former Manchester United left-back set to sign for Vitesse

Former Manchester United defender Alex Buttner is close to completing a return to Vitesse Arnhem, the club he had played for before he moved to the Premier League giants, according to Dutch media reports.

Buttner made over 100 league appearances for the Dutch club between 2005 and 2012 and is now ready to return to GelreDome as a replacement for Kosuke Ota, who is set to join FC Tokyo.

The 27-year-old Alex Buttner has been a free agent since last month after the termination of his contract with the Russia side Dinamo Moscow. The Netherlands international defender Buttner struggled to gain his footing with the Russian side having only played 24 league matches for Dynamo Moscow.

He was sent out on loan at Anderlecht in 2016, but the left-back only played 14 matche…

Luis Enrique: Neymar red curious, but we are used to it

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique was not impressed with referee Jesus Gil Manzano s decision to send off Neymar in Saturday s 2-0 LaLiga defeat at the hands of Malaga.

The Brazil international received his first booking before the break when deliberately delaying a Malaga free-kick by tying his laces in front of the ball, before being shown another yellow card in the second half for a strong challenge on Diego Llorente.

The red card was Neymar s first since joining Barcelona from Santos in 2013 and Luis Enrique was not convinced the attacker deserved his dismissal.

I believe the interpretation of what is worth a yellow card is very special, Luis Enrique told reporters.

We have to be very careful in some games because there have been strong tackles from beh…

LaLiga top priority for Real Madrid – Morientes

Having conquered Europe, former striker Fernando Morientes said it is time for Real Madrid to end their LaLiga title drought.

While Madrid have claimed two Champions League trophies in three seasons, the Spanish capital club have not won LaLiga since 2012.

Bitter rivals Barcelona have dominated in that period with three titles in four seasons and Morientes who won three Champions League crowns during his illustrious time at the Santiago Bernabeu said domestic glory is paramount for Madrid.

I think Real Madrid s number one objective before the season started was to win LaLiga and it still is, Morientes told Marca.

If they can win the Champions League on the way then that s even better, as it s the competition everyone wants, but five years without winnin…

United´s Lukaku a ´true target´ but agent says Inter must hurry

Romelu Lukaku s agent Federico Pastorello said Inter are serious about signing the Manchester United striker but warned the Serie A club must make a move.

Lukaku continues to be linked with Antonio Conte s Inter, having acknowledged a desire to play in Italy and hinted his future could be away from Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old Belgium international joined United from Everton for £75million in 2017 and the Premier League giants want to recoup that fee as Inter circle.

After meeting Inter officials on Wednesday, Pastorello told reporters: Nothing new. We met each other to understand better the situation. We will see what [Inter] is going to decide.

It is not on us. If the player wants to move [to Inter] they need to hurry. He [Lukaku] is a true target.…
